During the meeting held at the Rector’s Office, the contributions of TİKA to the development of KTMU’s educational and research infrastructure were evaluated. In addition to ongoing projects, ranging from greenhouse and laboratory projects to academic events, the participants discussed joint projects that could be developed in the future.
More Than 20 Projects Implemented at KTMU
Abdullah Eren stated that TİKA had implemented more than 20 projects at Manas University to date. He emphasized that the university holds a special place in educational and academic cooperation between Türkiye and Kyrgyzstan.
Eren recalled that TİKA had supported the university’s practical education and research opportunities through greenhouse and laboratory projects. He also noted that the agency had contributed to various academic events. He added that the anatomy laboratory currently being established was one of the new initiatives aimed at improving the educational infrastructure of the Faculty of Medicine.
The Anatomy Laboratory Is Planned to Open in November
Providing information about the anatomy laboratory prepared with TİKA’s support, Eren stated that the work is planned to be completed in November. With the laboratory becoming operational, the aim is to improve practical training opportunities in anatomy for students at KTMU’s Faculty of Medicine.
Emphasizing Manas University’s role in strengthening friendship and higher education relations between the two countries, Eren underlined that TİKA’s support for the university would continue. “We will continue to do our best to further strengthen higher education and academic cooperation between the two countries,” Eren said.
1,300 Projects in Kyrgyzstan, from Education to Healthcare
Abdullah Eren stated that relations between Türkiye and Kyrgyzstan had developed in recent years. He reported that 1,300 projects had been implemented in the country through TİKA’s activities since 1992.
Eren explained that the agency had carried out projects in areas such as education, healthcare, agriculture, animal husbandry, and the development of public institutions’ infrastructure. He noted that large-scale projects were also part of this cooperation. He added that TİKA’s activities in Kyrgyzstan continued to expand into the fields of science, technology, and innovation.
Rector Ceylan: “TİKA’s Support Strengthens Our Educational and Research Opportunities”
KTMU Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan stated that cooperation with TİKA contributed to the development of the university’s educational and research infrastructure. He made the following remarks:
“We consider the support provided by TİKA to our university as a form of cooperation that improves our students’ opportunities for practical education and provides new opportunities for our academics’ work. The support given to greenhouse and laboratory projects, as well as academic events, strengthens our educational and research activities across different disciplines. It is important to us that these contributions benefit our students’ professional development and scientific achievements.
The anatomy laboratory being established for our Faculty of Medicine is another new and tangible example of this cooperation. One of our main priorities is to create a learning environment where students can reinforce their theoretical knowledge through practical experience in medical education. The opening of the laboratory will help our students gain a closer understanding of the structure of the human body and establish the necessary foundation for their professional training.
In the coming period, we consider it important to develop new projects with TİKA in line with our university’s needs and academic objectives. We aim for our joint efforts to contribute to the development of Kyrgyzstan’s skilled workforce, scientific knowledge, and social progress. I would like to thank TİKA President Mr. Abdullah Eren and all TİKA employees who have contributed to these projects for the support they have provided to our university.”
